The old Catford Greyhound Stadium sign has been spotted on an industrial estate looking all lonely and abandoned.

According to Barratt London who are building on the old site, they are keen to preserve the sign so it will not be forgotten.
“As part of the construction works, the sign has been carefully taken down and is being safely stored. Barratt London has engaged a number of local people to find a suitable place for the sign and it is intended that it will be given to the local community for future use.”
Whether the sign ends up on the Catford Green development or not, Barratt intend to keep the legacy of the track within the development. According to the December 2014 edition of the site specific construction newsletter they will be naming the blocks from the winners of the Gold Collar race, which was held at the stadium. Block B&C will be called Ferdinand Court, Block D&E Dempsey Court and Block K will be known as Firgrove Court.
Here’s a virtual tour of the new development.
I look forward to seeing where the sign will end up. Where do you think it should go?
