The Catford Constitutional Club occupies the oldest building in Catford at Elmwood, Broadway Catford. Elmwood, the farmhouse was built in 1736 by Nelgarde Doggett who gave his name to Nelgarde and Doggett roads in Catford. Catford Bridge Tavern destroyed by fire

Whether your remember it as the Railway Tavern, the Copperfield or Catford Bridge Tavern, the old pub next to the station went up in flames on 1 March. The London Fire Brigade were called out around 6pm on Sunday to tackle the blaze. The Antic run Catford Constitutional plans to open its doors tonight. I've had a sneaky peek inside and builders are currently beavering away getting things right in time for the 6pm opening. Pub Company Antic London, have announced plans to open a pub at the old Catford Conservative Club site. John Evelyn pub targetted by Paddy Power

A licensing application has been made to turn the John Evelyn pub in Evelyn Street, Deptford,  into a Paddy Power betting shop following the closure of the pub last month. Former owner of the pub Doug Elsley, 65, who ran the pub for 20 years before retiring in November last year, has called for the pub, owned by Admiral Taverns, to be reopened.
