Ladywell Leisure Centre is no longer needed and will be demolished as Glass Mill serves as a replacement. This decision was made at Mayor and Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday 19 June 2013. According to East London Lines, Max Calò, a member of local film group Hither Green Hall said he saw the closing of Ladywell Leisure Centre as an opportunity to build a new cinema in Lewisham.
