Ladywell Leisure Centre will be demolished

Ladywell Leisure Centre is no longer needed and will be demolished as Glass Mill serves as a replacement. This decision was made at Mayor and Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday 19 June 2013. Could Ladywell Leisure Centre site be home to a new cinema in Lewisham?

According to East London Lines, Max Calò, a member of local film group Hither Green Hall said he saw the closing of Ladywell Leisure Centre as an opportunity to build a new cinema in Lewisham. A council by-election is due to take place in Ladywell on Thursday 4 November, with nominees from five parties vying for the chance to replace departing Labour councillor Tim Shand.
