Phones 4u coming to Catford

There’s been some activity at 148 Rushey Green with workmen coming and going this past week. It looks like the old greengrocers shop will not be empty for too long. Good news. So what’s going to replace C & B Fruiterers you may ask? Based on planning information it seems Phones 4u will be gracing our high street with their presence. If you don’t’ know who they are, … [Read more...]

Motown Soul Bar update

It seems the Motown Soul Bar is definitely ear marked for demolition despite the lack of movement since the first planning application was made in 2011. A prior notification document was added to the planning website 25 June with a demolition start date of 28 August. Well that’s come and gone and I haven’t seen much movement yet. This is due to major refurbishment being carried out by Lewisham Council to attract more shoppers and visitors to the town centre. Between now and spring 2014, the Council’s contractors will be: laying brand new … [Read more...]

A new fried chicken shop has opened on Sangley Road, Catford, right next door to the kebab shop which also sells fried chicken. Zenith Fried Chicken must make award winning chicken, burgers and ribs, why else would you open a shop where there are five other shops along a strip that do the same thing?
