The team at Mecca Catford is hosting a series of ‘Mic Nights’ and is calling out to local acts from across Lewisham and Greater London to showcase their talent.
Running every Thursday for five weeks, the best act from each heat will stand the chance to make it through to the grand final on Thursday 2 March 2017, where the winner will take home £500 in cash.
The audience will vote for their favourite performance each week, so bring your friends and family down to support. All those who cast votes will also be entered into a free draw for Ticketmaster tickets to a show of their choice.
Those who simply want to watch will, of course, be able to ‘draw’ their dabbers for the usual games from 6.30pm until 9pm, after which the show will begin as locals compete for a place in the grand finale.
Kim Jones, manager at Mecca Catford, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming local musicians, comedians and dancers, to name but a few, to Mecca Catford and watching them showcase their talent.
“Every aspiring act has to start with smaller venues and we hope that the Catford community will get behind them and come together in pride for the area.
“The final on March 2nd is set to be fantastic with an independent panel of three judges coming together for one night only to decide the winner.”
‘Catford Mic Nights’ will take place on Thursdays from 6.30pm. The £10 fee will cover all bingo games until 9pm, when the local talent will take to the stage.
To attend a Mecca Club you need to be aged 18 years or over – please bring photo ID to prove you are over 18.
