Christmas celebrations for 80 local carers at Mecca, Catford

06/12/2016 By Editor Leave a Comment

mecca-catford-from-the-outsideMecca Catford is hosting a Christmas party for carers in the Lewisham and Bromley area on Wednesday 7 December, with 80 carers attending for an afternoon of festive fun, food and drink.

On Saturday, the club will also be hosting another Christmas party, complete with games, entertainment, festive drinks and of course, plenty of bingo. Local businesses will also be attending and setting up stalls in the lounge; all money raised from the stalls will be going to the Carers Trust.

The party wouldn’t be complete without a live screening of The X-Factor final, featuring local X-Factor star, Matt Terry, who is a member of Mecca Catford.

Kim Jones, General Manager at Mecca Catford, said: “This is the start of a very busy week here at Mecca Catford and we look forward to welcoming the 80 carers on Wednesday – they give so much to the community, we wanted to give something back to them.

“Our Christmas party on Saturday is set to be a great night for bingo players and festive fans alike and we can’t wait to get everyone in the Yuletide spirit.

“We have shown Matt live each and every Saturday to help build that winning feeling, and we hope more people continue to come and cheer him on in the final. Good luck Matt from your family here at Mecca!”

The partnership between the Carers Trust and the Rank Group, which owns Mecca and Grosvenor Casinos, began in February 2014 and has seen the Catford club take part in a host of different activities to raise much-needed funds.
